The Gagnon Somatic Reintegration Program is an exercise-based self-adjustment program created by Sarah Gagnon. Sarah’s extensive experience with exercise while living with Fibromyalgia and SIBO, combined with her work as an osteopathic manual practitioner, have been tremendous teaching tools, particularly moving into her 50s. Her work both in physiotherapy clinics supervising rehabilitative exercises, and with elite athletes such as triathletes, competitive skaters and dancers, offers a vast array of exercise approaches and variations for any individual, regardless of their exercise goals. The GSRP is designed to increase core strength and improve spinal function, as well as increase range of motion and balance in the extremities. A well developed and executed GSRP can help to manage chronic conditions such as herniated or bulging discs, sciatica, piriformis syndrome and other joint dysfunctions. Rehab versions of each program are available to adjust the body during flare-ups thus reducing the need for manual adjustment therapies such as osteopathy, chiropractic, physiotherapy and massage.
Individual programs are designed to achieve the following goals:
Any individual, regardless of health status and physical fitness, can undertake the GSRP and achieve significant gains within 12 weeks. Each program is individually tailored based on an in-depth musculoskeletal analysis and complete health history, all of which is completed either in-person, or online. Each uniquely developed GSRP involves breath-assisted positional releases to help release soft tissue adhesions and move fluids along the detoxification pathways. These passive releases are performed along with an exercise program intended to restore nerve signaling in the regions of the neural web where there is suboptimal function that results in loss of contraction or release in sections of fibres within a muscle. Reports are provided and the program goals are explained in detail along with a suggested schedule.
This video is the first of a series of 5 videos covering every aspect of the GSRP!
